Douglas Taylor, CEO

Douglas began his career in the premium spirits industry when he joined Diageo in 1998. After a variety of UK management roles, he moved to International Market Management and finally Global Innovation, before leaving to join the then independent Bruichladdich Distillery as Commercial Director.

Championing the distillery’s philosophy and values, Douglas became CEO in 2017, and has been integral to several landmark moments, including B Corp certification, Great Place to Work ® accreditation and strengthening the businesses connection and impact around agriculture and sustainability. Under his tenure, the distillery was also awarded the Leadership Scotland Award at the VIBES Scottish Environment Business Awards and named Brand Employer of the Year by the Marketing Society Scotland.

With a vision to reconnect land, community and spirit as a force for good, Douglas oversees all operations, global distribution sales and the overall strategic vision and direction of the business. In 2023 he joined the Remy Cointreau Group Executive Committee, representing Bruichladdich Distillery Company and its global priority brands, driving the strategic importance of Single Malt Scotch Whisky and Super Premium Gin in these dynamic categories.

Allan Logan, Production Director

With a career with Bruichladdich spanning 22 years, Allan first joined the distillery as a Mashman and Stillman. Turning his hand to distillery maintenance, he later worked in the warehouse and gained invaluable experience in vatting and blending, before taking on the position of Assistant Distillery Manager in 2006.

He was promoted to Distillery Manager in 2010, before becoming Production Director in 2015.

As Production Director, Allan is responsible for overseeing all production aspects of the distillery, from sourcing the barley and botanicals for the distillery’s single malts and Islay dry gin respectively overseeing the maturation process, all infrastructure projects and bulk spirit supply. He is also responsible for overseeing CAPEX projects and leads all sustainability and CSR initiatives.

Gareth Brown, Global Marketing Director

With over 20 years experience in the drinks industry, working with leading spirits companies and renowned global brands, Gareth started his career on the Graduate Scheme at Allied Domecq. He then moved to Beam Global (which became Bean Suntory in 2014), before joining Edrington Beam Suntory UK as the UK Marketing Director.

He joined Bruichladdich Distillery in 2020 as Global Marketing Director, where he oversees the full spectrum of marketing disciplines, from core brand management, digital capabilities and CRM, web-search and social, e-Commerce, in-house design and production, brand education and the successful running of the distillery’s Brand Home and visitor experience.

As Global Marketing Director, Gareth is responsible for the strategic and creative output of the business and oversees the product innovation pipeline and asset creation across the Bruichladdich Distillery portfolio, which are distributed globally through the Remy Cointreau network.

Colin Noon, Operations Director

Colin started his career in the drinks industry when he was just 16 years old, working across various premium brands in the beer, spirits and soft drinks categories. He has held numerous titles throughout this tenure, covering specialist production and engineering roles, and in 2018 held the position of Supply Chain Director with SHS Drinks.

As Operations Director, Colin is responsible for overseeing the smooth running of integral distillery functions and the seamless flow of all outputs across various departments, including bottling, supply chain, packaging development, quality and compliance.

Richie Webster, Finance & IT Director

Having graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The University of Glasgow, followed by a Chartered Accountants diploma at ICAS, Richie began his career as an Audit & Assurance Manager for Deloitte. Prior to joining Bruichladdich, he held the position of Finance Director for C&C Group, responsible for the company’s long-term financial health and growth.

As Bruichladdich Finance & IT Director, Richie is responsible for the successful running, strategic planning and coordination of the Finance & IT functions for the Bruichladdich business, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, information technology and stakeholder management.

Emma Crawford, Head of HR

With a BA (Hons) in Business & Information Management and a postgraduate diploma in Human Resource Management, Emma initially spent six years with Barclay’s Wealth, overseeing HR and resourcing for Stockbrokers and Banking Operations.

She joined Bruichladdich Distillery in 2016 shortly after moving back to Islay with her husband and young family. As Head of HR, Emma is responsible for defining, delivering and implementing the People Strategy at Bruichladdich Distillery under the business’s four key pillars: Values-led Culture, Talent, Leadership Excellence, and Rewards and Recognition.
