Plan your trip

Our island home is remote, but well worth the journey. Whether you're flying or taking the ferry, getting here is part of the adventure. Below, we've included the travel routes and how to find us once you arrive.

  • Air: Islay Airport (ILY) is the closest airport, served by flights from Glasgow. From the airport, it's a 30-minute drive to the distillery.

  • Ferry: The ferry from Kennacraig to Port Askaig or Port Ellen is a popular option. Once you're on the island, it's less than a 30-minute drive.

For more detailed travel information, visit Calmac Ferries or Loganair.

Tours & experiences

Due to the limited number of spaces available on our experiences, we would advise booking in advance – particularly for bigger groups. We will always try to accommodate guests who turn up on the day but cannot guarantee a place on any of our experiences.

Only our Distillery Tour can accommodate all ages. However, the rest of our tours are for over 18's only.

Yes, you can book a tour for another person providing we have their correct name and contact details. Please make sure you have their permission before submitting their contact details to us. Alternatively, you can purchase a Gift Certificate for any of our tour offering, either for yourself or someone else, that can be used to book the relevant experience in the future.

If you are looking to arrange a VIP experience or media visit, please Contact Us and one of our team will be able to discuss your requirements.

We love dogs! ALL dogs (and well behaved humans) are welcome in our Visitor Centre, but sadly no dogs are allowed on our distillery tours or warehouse tastings due to health and safety.

Facilities

We have a vast range of products on offer from whisky releases across all three of our Islay single malts, The Botanist Gin as well as merchandise, apparel, accessories and locally produced products from members of the Islay community. You will be able to find items that aren't available in our online shop or elsewhere - and if there is something specific you are looking for, or need any guidance on, our expert team are always ready and willing to help.

We don't have a café or a restaurant on site but our team are always here to help point you in the direction of local amenities and offer recommendations. We are situated on the banks of Loch Indaal and at the beginning of the Loch Indaal way, connecting the village of Bruichladdich to Port Charlotte, with places to enjoy a picnic or refreshment with a view (subject to weather!).

Our Glasgow office serves as an additional hub for our administrative operations. While we are always thrilled by the enthusiasm of visitors seeking to explore what we do at Bruichladdich Distillery, it's important to note that this location does not have a visitor centre or tasting room. All distillery tours, tastings and visitor experiences are offered exclusively at our distillery on Islay.
